Apple will drop the iPhone 14 Max name for a new low-cost smartphone. This is reported by the author of the Korean blog Naver.
According to an insider, Apple will again use the Plus name in the name of its smartphones. According to the author’s report, the company has decided to name one of the new phones iPhone 14 Plus. This phone will get a 6.7-inch OLED display and a dual camera. A more expensive device – the iPhone 14 Pro – will come with a triple camera.
The note says that the new name will make it easier for consumers to find a cheap device among other flagships of the current line. Previously, this device was planned to be called the iPhone 14 Max, but this name is similar to the name of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the most expensive device in the series. In turn, the most affordable smartphone in the line will be called the iPhone 14.
Apple last used a similar name in 2017 when it introduced the iPhone 8 Plus. The device received a 5.5-inch IPS screen, an A11 Bionic processor, a dual camera with 12 megapixel lenses each, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the Home button.
At the end of May, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman confirmed that Apple would release four smartphones in the fall of 2022. The most expensive 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models will receive the flagship A16 Bionic chip, a 48 megapixel camera, and will also be left without a monobrow.
