Innovations in V4 and Ukrainian Political Practice and Science: Pre-War, Wartime and the EU Contexts

Project description

The main focus of the project is to attract and disseminate the academic, political and institutional experience, trends and innovations of the Visegrad Four/the EU countries in the development of Political Science and Practice in Ukraine, as well as to reveal the pre-war and wartime practices and experience of Ukraine to other European countries.

This will be ensured through the organization and holding of the First International Forum of Political Scientists in Ukraine, during which (in the framework of presentations, discussion panels, workshops and round tables) the following issues will be considered: innovations in Political Science; the agenda, conditions, features and results of the EU integration; trends in real politics, governance and institutional design in the EU countries; national and regional security in the context of war. The background of the project will definitely be the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war and Ukraine’s acquisition of the status of a candidate for the EU membership in 2022.

The results of the project will contribute to the development of education and capacity, strengthening and activation of professional networks of educational institutions, supporting the mobility of political researchers, academics and practitioners for the exchange of best practices between the countries of the Visegrad Group and Ukraine, etc. This will improve the tools for modernization and democratization of Ukraine on its way to the EU.

Основним фокусом уваги проєкту є залучення та поширення академічного, політичного й інституційного досвіду, тенденцій та інновацій країн Вишеградської четвірки/ЄС у розвитку політичної науки і практики в Україні, а також розкриття довоєнних і воєнних практик й досвіду України для інших країн Європи.

Це буде забезпечено через організацію та проведення Першого міжнародного форуму політологів в Україні, в ході якого (у рамках презентацій, дискусійних панелей, воркшопів і круглих столів) розглядатимуться питання: інновацій у політології; порядку денного, умов, особливостей та результатів інтеграції в ЄС; тенденцій реальної політики, управління й інституційного дизайну в країнах ЄС; національної та регіональної безпеки в умовах війни. Тлом проєкту безумовно виступатиме повномасштабна російсько-українська війна і надання Україні статусу кандидата на членство в ЄС у 2022 році.

Результати проєкту сприятимуть розвитку освіти і спроможності, зміцненню й активізації професійних мереж навчальних закладів, підтримці мобільності політичних дослідників, викладачів і практиків для обміну передовим досвідом між країнами Вишеградської групи й Україною тощо. Це покращить інструменти для модернізації і демократизації України на її шляху до ЄС.
